Commission Color Kinetics by talking to it
Guided StartUp is a local agent that runs on the commissioning laptop. It speaks to the lighting network directly — finds the Data Enabler Pro, learns the fixtures, then addresses, programs, and drives the show. It even builds the Pharos project file (.pd2) for you from a plain-English program. You just type what you want: no QuickPlay Pro discover-and-click, no spreadsheets, no hand-patching in Designer.
Finds the DEP, reads the serials, writes the DMX addresses
“address the fixtures”Builds the looks + sunset/sunrise & holiday schedule
“warm white, rainbow chase”Where the bring-up stands, any gaps
“current status”Re-addresses so the run sweeps the other way
“re-address in reverse”Appends a scene to the running show
“add a slow blue breathe”It talks KiNET on the wire
The agent broadcasts for the Data Enabler Pro, then reads every fixture serial straight off it — the step you'd normally do by hand in QuickPlay Pro. It maps those serials to the DMX addresses your show needs and writes them. Reverse the run, re-address, check status — all by prompt.
Plug into the lighting jack — it sweeps the NICs and finds the Data Enabler Pro itself, no IP setup
Reads every fixture serial straight off the DEP
Serials → the DMX addresses your show needs
Addresses the fixtures over KiNET — you confirm first
Every fixture's DMX address, universe, IP & port
AutomatedZones become Pharos groups, ready to trigger
AutomatedLooks, sunset/sunrise & holiday triggers, Lua
AutomatedPatch, groups, named looks & triggers written into a real Pharos project file
AutomatedSet IP, upload, trigger the show over HTTP
AutomatedGuided StartUp isn't a website — a browser can't reach the controller. It's a small app the technician runs on the commissioning Mac or PC, on the same network as the LPC and Data Enabler Pro. This page explains the product; the agent itself runs on site.
AddressSpec is the planning half, live online: describe the job room-by-room and get every fixture addressed & grouped with the Pharos patch + QPP2 exports — no hardware needed.
Addressing, grouping, the Pharos project file (.pd2), and live control are all generated by the agent — no Designer hand-build. The named looks (color chips) plus sunset/sunrise & holiday triggers are written straight into the project; the animated render of effects like twinkle or fire rides the agent's live drive over the wire until it's captured per fixture personality.
